Our Mission

Northland Family Programs exists to provide instructions and support in natural family planning as a natural means of both postponing pregnancy as well as overcoming infertility. Our NFP curriculum is based upon the Creighton Model FertilityCare System and its philosophical, ethical and medical principles. We also promote abstinence based educaitonal programs for families and individuals that reflect both the unitive and procreative ends of marriage. We currently serve clients from northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin with practitioners based in Brainerd, Duluth, Cloquet and on the Iron Range.

Our Staff

my name is anna crain, i am the director at northland family programs. My introduction to Northland Family Program began on a personal level in 2012 and I am grateful for the role it has played in both my marriage and family life. I am passionate about assisting and making available education of women’s health, fertility awareness and implementing ways for it to reach out even further into the community around us. It is with this passion that I accepted this challenge as your new director. My husband Michael, a Registered Nurse, and our four children relocated to Duluth last summer. When not busy at home raising our young family, you can most often find us on the Superior Hiking Trail or at your local coffee shop. I look forward to meeting each of you and thank you for your continued support of Northland Family Programs. Northland Family Programs bears a mission that I am thrilled to be a part of!

My name is Mary Marquis and I have been a practitioner with Northland Family Programs since 1991. In addition to teaching FertilityCare and presenting the mother/daughter “Tea for Two” program in Duluth I have served nationally on the Commission on Certification and the Board of Directors of the American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals. I believe that FertilityCare is a healthcare tool that every woman should have the opportunity to hear about and I am passionate about sharing this information with everyone I meet! When I’m not talking about fertility with someone you can find my husband Phil and I spending time with family and friends nearby or across the country-usually over food!

My name is Joyce Cagle. I began working for Northland Family Programs in October of 2001 and continue to love my job as a Certified FertilityCare Practitioner. Pete and I began our journey with FertilityCare just prior to our wedding in 1987 and have been blessed with five children. I love working with clients both near and far and meet with them in person both in Duluth and Superior as well as via Skype, FaceTime and phone. Technology has certainly helped make long distance teaching much more effective! Singing, reading, gardening, and watching the birds at our feeders are all things I enjoy. While our oldest four children have moved out and are busy doing their own things, we do have our ten year old son still at home which keeps me on my toes with all of his antics and activities.

Jessica Jennings, Certified fertility care practioner in Brainerd Lakes Area. I became a practitioner because as a FertiltyCare and NaPro user, I found real medical answers for my own struggles with PCOS, PMS, post partum depression and low progesterone in pregnancies. I want to help women learn to love their bodies, understand and appreciate their fertility, and have a voice in their health care. I completed my FertilityCare Practitioner training at PPVI in 2016 and am currently working towards becoming certified.

Every practitioner is trained with a 13 month long program that includes classroom work and practical applications while working with a supervisor.
